Total Capital Improvement Needs: $9,067,518

Building Conditions: leaky exterior windows and doors; blisters and soft spots in roof; holes and leaks in ceilings; outdated electrical lighting; broken plumbing fixtures; inadequate fire and safety systems; and insufficient heating system.

Site Conditions: parking lot is mostly gravel – cracking in concrete areas; curb replacement around driveway; athletic courts need to be updated and repaired; track was installed improperly – needs to be replaced in the near future; landscape is in poor condition – no lawn, minimal trees and poor drainage; 50% of football field needs to be repaired; minimal irrigation; sediment coming out of older restroom faucets; sewer gas smells during windy season; inconsistent slope in water waste lines, causing clogging; minimal lighting; fence along athletic fields is in poor condition; other fences need repairs – bent poles, broken gates and missing fabric.

Educational Suitability: playground is poorly developed – gravel and dirt, few grassy areas, and the hard surfaces are weathered; although the football field and track have been upgraded, they are in bad condition; internal directional signage doesn’t exist; some classrooms are undersized; the library is not appropriate for upper grades – they use the county public library (offsite); limited storage space in classrooms; remedial learning space is not located near the library; library is centrally located for the elementary grades only; one art room serves the whole school and does not meet standards (suitable for primary grades only); performing space/auditorium does not exist; kindergarten classrooms do not have access to a sink or restroom; no teacher’s lounge for secondary teachers.
